Cobra Technologies™ has introduced CIMS V9™, a SQL based data management program. CIMS V9 retains all of the features from previous versions of CIMS™, adds several new features and sets the stage for future improvements.
With the introduction of CIMS V9 we are discontinuing support for CIMS 2007 effective December 31, 2009. We will of course honor all existing CIMS 2007 support contracts through their scheduled end. However once those contracts expire we will no longer be providing support for CIMS 2007. All previous versions of CIMS are obsolete and no support or activation codes will be provided. With this new release we are continuing our support contract program. Users will need to have a support contract in order to get help with the software and to receive software updates. CIMS V9 Support Contracts are available at a cost of $1,900.00 per year.
An annual support agreement provides the following benefits (see the full agreement for details and restrictions):
- Ten (10) hours of telephone or remote support (from 9 AM to 5 PM Eastern time)
- E-mail based support
- Free decimal updates. Example: update from build 1.1 to build 1.2
- Remote system control support via LogMeIn™ or similar service.
- Access to the web based support center at www.cobratec.com
- Discounts on new CIMS products and versions
- An archive copy of the latest stable build provided on CD, DVD, or USB stick (media chosen by Cobra Technologies)
Some of the features found in CIMS V9 include:
- PACP 4.4, 4.2 Import/Export standard
- PACP, MACP, LACP scoring modules
- Enhanced reporting features
- Generate custom reports such as all roots problems having a PACP Score above 3
- Custom defect codes and ratings for non PACP users
- More robust sort, filter, and search
- XML transfer for WRc V4
- Sewer.dat, sewer1.dat for WRc V3/V4
NASSCO recently released the PACP 4.4 specification. Cities and municipalities may soon require data in that format. CIMS 2007 cannot accept PACP 4.4 data, so if you are required to work with the new standard you will need to upgrade your system.
PACP 4.2 Data from CIMS 2007 can easily be transferred to CIMS V9. Custom code sets and other non-PACP data may require customization and conversion. Customization and conversion costs depend on the details of the specific project.
Customers using CIMS older than V4 must purchase a new installation.
Cobra will customize CIMS V9 to meet special requirements. Users should contact Cobra to discuss any modifications, additional charges may apply.
For those of you who want to run CIMS over a network, with centralized data and media storage, we offer a pre-configured CIMS server box. This compact system is just 5.3” x 4.5” x 10.2” but it is a complete computer system that will run CIMS and store up to three terabytes (3Tb) of data, images, and video. When upgrading to CIMS V9, be sure register on our website to take full advantage of our support options and to have access to software updates. Updates to CIMS V9 will be provided in the Customer area of our web site and registered users will be notified by e-mail when updates are posted. It will be the user’s responsibility to update their software in a timely manner. Decimal point updates (9.1, 9.2 etc.) will be provided at no cost to users with active CIMS V9 support agreements.
