CVC 2000 Video Compressor

Using the Cobra CVC 2000, video can be compressed and captured digitally in the field to a .mpg file eliminating the need to use a VCR. Take to the office and burn to a CD or a DVD for long-term storage. Each time an observation is entered on the CDL 8000, the CVC 2000 automatically transmits to the CDL 8000 the elapsed time and this time code is appended to the observation. This time coding links the data to the video file when played back in the office allowing the user to access any observation without the need to search the video file by simply double clicking on the observation in the database. The operation of the Video compressor is completely automated. It is controlled via a serial data link from the CDL 8000 to the CVC 2000, which transmits the video file name to the CVC and returns the elapsed time information to the CDL 8000. The CDL automatically Starts, Stops and Pauses the CVC 2000 from commands used to operate the CDL 8000.
