Cobra Technologies™ introduces a Universal Portable Control Console
Cobra Technologies announces the availability of the Cobra Universal Portable Control Console complete with a rack mounted, solid state, Dual Core processor computer system, camera controls, crawler controls, gantry controls, a 10.4 Inch sunlight-readable touch screen and more. This controller can be used as a completely integrated portable unit. Created as a truly portable light weight console (weighs less than 40 lbs depending on the specification of the equipment), it is designed as a Cobra OEM package for use with Cobra inspection units however it has the flexibility to replace the out-dated, bulky controllers that have been provided to the industry in the past.
The Portable Controller can be loaded with the CobraTouch™ CDL 9000 Series Data Logger. The CobraTouch™ provides an intuitive means to carry out the data collection process through a simple touch screen approach, designed to make the CCTV sewer/pipeline inspection process easier and more productive. The CobraTouch™ is PACP certified by NASSCO. Due to the large number of defect codes each with specific requirements, Cobra built in a front end validation to the PACP and WRc programs. This eliminates the need by the operator to remember the coding requirements for each of the over 200 defect codes. Data can be collected in PACP, WRc or custom coding. Video can be collected in any MPEG format. The data logger has standard PACP and WRc export features allowing compliant data to be transferred to any PACP or WRc database.
Cobra offers the portable system in a number of configurations with or without the CobraTouch CDL 9000 Series Data Logger. As an alternative to the CobraTouch the computer can be specified to run any of the software available in the inspection industry including Granite XP, Flexidata, Posm, WinCan, and others, making it a truly universal portable inspection system!
The computer is 100% solid sate and uses a 32GB Solid state drive to house the Windows XP Professional OS, eliminating the use of conventional hard drives to improve the durability of the system. In addition to the solid state OS drive a 64GB eSata solid state removable drive is provided which allow the user to quickly and easily transfer the video and data files to office computers. The sunlight-readable monitor allows the User to operate the controller in direct sunlight without the need to cover the monitor. The monitor will convert from a data logger screen to a 10.4” full-screen video by a simple double click on the screen.
The portable controller replaces all the rack mounted hardware currently installed in the average TV Inspection van and eliminates the PCU, the monitors, VCRs, pan and tilt controllers, crawler controllers, data units such as the Prodata or the VD 1000, and the 30 lb rack mount computer.
The Cobra Univeral Portable Control Console can be easily configured to run Cobra, Cues, Aries, RST or any U.S. made inspection system. The controller is available in a single conductor or multi-conductor configuration. The console is not limited to storm and sanitary inspection equipment. It can be configured to operate nearly any inspection camera system so you can standardize your equipment.
